Delta Sigma Phi fraternity is a
national social/professional fraternity with over 108 years of rich
history and tradition. As a new
group which was just colonized at the University of Alabama last year,
we are making great strides to build our own traditions and
establish a lasting legacy at the University.
Within
just a year, we have grown to 71 members and recently acquired a house
on Fraternity Row at the corner of Jefferson Ave and 4th Street. It is the former Chi Phi house, but now
boasts a Delta Sigma Phi banner in front. In addition to social
events, community service and intramural sports (for which we were recently
crowned the Crimson Cup champions in our Greek division), we
also sponsor successful philanthropy events every year to raise money
for charitable organizations.
Why Should You Consider Joining Delta Sig at Alabama?
We are a fraternity that does not discriminate on race or ethnicity. What matters most to us is CHARACTER.
Because we are a newer fraternity, there are many opportunities for leadership sooner. And you can have a positive influence on the direction and growth of our chapter.
Opportunities to meet new people. You’ll also create life-long friendships with men from your chapter and over 60,000 Delta Sigs across the nation.
You’ll get to participate in numerous social activities including theme parties, football tailgating, sorority swaps, athletic events, brotherhood retreats, and date nights.
We do not tolerate nor allow abuse to our pledges. We are proud to be an anti-hazing fraternity.
Academics are very important to us. We are one of the few fraternities at UA that offers scholarships to its members each fall and spring semester. New members are also eligible for academic scholarships during their first semester of pledgeship. (See Scholarships page for more information)
We are looking for quality men who can help us in creating a strong and successful fraternity. If you are interested in being a part of our group or would like more information about us, please respond in the Contact Us page or contact our recruitment chair, Gerardo Silva, via email at gjsilva@crimson.ua.edu or Facebook.
